Dogs are welcome at The Snug!
Welcome to our dog policy page! We are delighted to say that visitors to The Snug are more than welcome to bring their dog with them on holiday! As long as they and their furry friend are happy to stick to a few of our house rules:
- You are most welcome to bring your well-behaved pet or two … we have a limit of no more than two.
- We have some lovely meadows where guest are welcome to exercise their dogs and enjoy a picnic.
- Please restrict your dog to the tiled kitchen area if you come back from a walk a bit wet and muddy until he/she has dried off.
- Dogs are not allowed to stray on their own into the orchard or into any surrounding fields. But they are very welcome to go with you and enjoy the garden and all the little meadows.
- The garden is large (all three acres are available for your enjoyment) but not securely fenced so if you have an escapologist please beware.
- Dogs are not allowed to sleep on the furniture or beds and must sleep in a bed that you have provided for them.
- If you think that they might possibly want to jump up on the sofa, chair or bed, would you kindly bring some throws for the soft furnishings (one sofa and one chair and the bed, just in case)
- Pets must NEVER be left alone in the house, as even the calmest of characters can worry and think that they have been left behind and abandoned, when left behind in a strange home, and they can do weird things that they have never done before!
- If your dog is on the Index of Exempted Dogs (IED) dangerous dogs act 1991, it is YOUR responsibility to insure, restrain him/her and follow the guidelines according to the current legislation (updated in 2014) We accept NO responsibility for your dog during your stay.
- There are plenty of lovely walks for dogs and their people and dog friendly pubs within walking distance.
An up to date list of dog friendly beaches and places to visit can be provided if required.
